How it works

Tell Qaid what happened. Approve the entry. Ask anything.

  1. 1. Describe or upload

Type “paid 45 KWD for printing” in English or Arabic, upload a receipt, or forward it to your Qaid inbox address.

  2. 2. Review the draft

Qaid proposes the accounts, amounts, VAT and currency conversion as a draft. Nothing posts until you approve it.

  3. 3. Ask your books

Ask “what did I spend on software this quarter?” and get an answer from your own ledger — plus P&L, balance sheet and cash-flow reports.

Accounting software is slow to learn, takes time to maintain, and assumes you know accounting.

Slow

Forms, account codes and journal screens get in the way. You already know what happened — the friction is translating it into the software's language.

Expensive & time-consuming

Outsourced bookkeeping is costly, and doing it yourself eats evenings. Qaid lives in your browser on desktop and phone, whenever you have five minutes.

Accounting knowledge

Debits, credits and ledgers shouldn't be a prerequisite. Qaid explains why it chose an account, so you learn your numbers as you go.

Same accounting process.A simpler way in.

Qaid offers several ways to record a transaction — chat, upload, email or bank-statement import — with no accounting knowledge needed. Keep your books current and create invoices with VAT applied where your country requires it, plus a Zakat estimate for Saudi Arabia.*

*The Zakat estimate uses the 2.5% rule of thumb on the higher of net worth or net profit. It is an estimate, not a filing or tax advice.

Frequently asked questions

Qaid is an AI bookkeeper for freelancers, founders and small businesses. You describe transactions in plain language or upload receipts and invoices; Qaid drafts the double-entry accounting entry for your approval, keeps your ledger organised, and answers questions about your finances from your own data.

You type what happened (for example “paid 120 KWD for internet”), upload a document, or forward a receipt to your Qaid inbox address. Qaid proposes the accounts, amounts, VAT and currency conversion as a draft with a short explanation. The entry is only posted to the ledger when you approve it.

Yes. Every approved transaction posts balanced journal entries to a chart of accounts, and Qaid produces a trial balance, profit and loss, balance sheet, cash-flow statement, receivables and payables ageing, and VAT reports from that ledger.

Yes. Qaid accepts PDFs, photos (JPG, PNG, HEIC, WebP), CSV and Excel files up to 25 MB. It extracts the vendor, date, amounts and tax, checks for duplicates, and drafts the entry. You can also email receipts to a dedicated address for your company.

You can set up a company in any country and currency. Qaid ships VAT defaults for Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan and Sudan, a Zakat toggle, and payroll rule presets for Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman. Every rate is editable.

Qaid calculates VAT on invoices and expenses and reports output and input VAT for a period. For companies with Zakat enabled (the default for Saudi Arabia), it produces a Zakat estimate using the 2.5% rule of thumb on the higher of net worth or net profit. These are calculations and estimates for your records; Qaid does not submit filings to ZATCA or any other authority and is not a ZATCA e-invoicing solution.

Yes. The Qaid app has a full Arabic, right-to-left interface, and you can describe transactions in Arabic or English.

Qaid has a free Starter plan, and Growth (KWD 9/month) and Scale (KWD 29/month) plans. During early access all features are available on the free plan while billing is being rolled out.

Your data is stored in a Supabase-hosted Postgres database and private file storage, accessed only through tenant-checked requests. Connections use TLS and the site enforces HTTPS. Transaction text and documents are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to draft entries. See the security page for the full, factual overview.

No. Qaid assists with day-to-day bookkeeping and reporting. It does not replace professional accounting, tax or legal advice, and it does not file returns. Clean, structured records make your accountant's review faster.

Yes. Ask about cash flow, expenses, profit, a vendor, or a period, and Qaid answers from your live ledger. You can also generate a CFO-style review of the period.
